Girton Farms is a sixth generation family farm founded in 1847 by Joseph Girton after his immigration from England. Originally the farm was a very diverse operation with a few dairy cows, pigs, and chickens with draft horses to perform the field work. Over the generations the farm has combined the land from different branches of the family to grow to 550 acres with the beef cattle being the only livestock on the farm. Currently the crops grown on the farm include corn, soybeans, wheat, hay and pasture.
